The Taiama Enterprise Academy is a program of Operation Classroom designed with our partners in Sierra Leone to address unemployment and poverty. The TEA offers an Innovative education with the potential to break the cycle of poverty through STEM (or STEAM) emphasis that will equip graduates to make a difference wherever they go. Preparation for the future as a business person, as a community worker, or university student are at the core of the TEA.
Current News from the TEA
Meet Maria Brewer, a former resident of Indiana, graduate of Portage High School and Valparaiso University, and now the Ambassador from the US to Sierra Leone. She was one of the special guests who spoke at the opening of the TEA on October 11, 2019. In early November 2019 she addressed the agriculture leaders of Sierra Leone at the Empower Africa Agriculture Trade Mission. Her interest in feeding the people and producing income through improved agriculture production is also one of the goals of the TEA. She was a perfect guest presenter at the Opening Inauguration of the Taiama Enterprise Academy.
